The Festival and Fringe have only just finished and Christmas is already on the agenda… Although we haven’t seen any Festive goodies in the shops (yet)…it really is time to think about where to book your December night out. Some of our favourite Edinburgh restaurants already have their bookings open, so if you want some inspiration check out Artmag’s exclusive reviews and get booking.
Harvey Nichols Forth Floor is worth booking early as groups of ten or more will start their evening off with a complimentary glass of fizz. In the Brasserie the menu comes with a turkey option, but head to the Restaurant and the mains are roast partridge, pan-fried bass, braised beef and a smoked cheddar and chestnut risotto.
The Salisbury Arms is a particularly popular place come Christmastime because the team always designs delicious menus. This year, alongside traditional dishes, the Festive Fayre menu offers a hearty slow-cooked smoky short rib with red wine jus or a sophisticated baked salmon supreme, presented on tray-baked fennel, onion and garlic potatoes and roasted Romano pepper.
At Wedgwood Paul’s pre-Christmas lunch menu is always a treat as he puts his trademark fashionable twist on traditional produce. Fans of Wedgwood’s acclaimed fine dining aren’t forgotten as on December evenings Paul still serves the a la carte menu, with a special set menu available to pre-order.
