Featured artist at the Torrance Gallery in Edinburgh is Howard Flanagan, who specialises in highly-detailed paintings in a variety of media, including watercolour, pastel and ink. Taking many hours to complete, they have earned him membership of the International Guild of Realism. A previous finalist in the Sunday Times Watercolour Artist of the Year competition, he was elected as the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race fleet artist (postponed during lockdown, but due to recommence once conditions allow), having worked extensively with its official charity, UNICEF UK, in a previous race, producing a series of original paintings and limited edition prints in aid of the children’s charity.
