Edinburgh’s Dovecot Studios is set to host an expertly-curated landmark exhibition celebrating the creative legacy of beloved Scottish artist Dame Elizabeth Blackadder. Elizabeth Blackadder: A Life in Colour is an insightful retrospective marking five years since Blackadder’s death, and celebrates the 50-year creative collaboration between the artist and the Studios.

It also premieres The Red Bouquet (above), a hand-tufted rug created by Dovecot’s studio team inspired by her 1975 painting.

The show forms part of the Royal Scottish Academy’s milestone 200th anniversary year, honouring the artist as the first woman elected to both the RSA and the UK’s Royal Academy of Arts.
