This year’s Hidden Door festival of music, art, dance, theatre and spoken word by emerging talent has taken over the former Scottish Widows complex on Edinburgh’s Dalkeith Road, promising a highly-varied programme of vigorous and fresh talent in almost every area of the arts.

The festival is known for opening-up urban spaces as a platform for new and emerging artists, musicians, theatre-makers, performers, film-makers and poets, showcasing new work and creating engaging environments for the public to experience, explore and discover.

Highlights of the 2023 music programme include Rozi Plain, Pozi, Porridge Radio, Pillow Queens and DEADLETTER, alongside an almost endlessly-varied programme of poetry, spoken word, dance, visual art, creative special events and immersive environments – afforded by the complex’s maze of former office and utility spaces across a six-acre site.
