Mixed-media artist Helen Acklam is set to display her distinctive images at Edinburgh’s Dundas St Gallery. Based in South West Scotland, the Yorkshire-born artist seeks to explore surface, form, texture and colour in her work, in paintings informed by architecture, landscape, history and myth; she also creates sculptural forms, boxworks and books made from found materials, plaster and textiles.

Following a long career in the NHS, Helen graduated from the University of Cumbria with FDA Drawing in 2012 and has exhibited work in various UK galleries, an Irish gallery and her pieces have found their way into private collections across the world. Her work is for sale via social media and on her website (see left), and she undertakes commissions.
