A weekend of art, craft and design, Handmade in Ayr, is set to take place at Robert Burns’ Birthplace Museum in Alloway. Twenty local artists will participate – a great opportunity to ‘shop local’; admission is free, and there is free parking, a lovely garden and a café. Run by the National Trust for Scotland, the Museum is described as the ‘birthplace of a genius – a celebration of the enduring legacy of Scotland’s national poet’, and ideal for anyone wishing to get to know more about the man and his work.
