Dundee’s Gallery Q is showing the work of artist Gwen Adair, who grew up in Fife, where she still visits to paint landscapes, and trained at Glasgow School of Art. She now paints and teaches in Dumfries-shire. Initially known for her figurative work (she was shortlisted for the Scottish Portrait Awards), she began to include birds in her compositions, and these have now become a subject in themselves. ‘There is something knowing about birds,’ she says. Also showing is a mixed exhibition of works by Moy Mackay, DK Macleod, Deborah Phillips, Sheila Page and Fiona Sturrock.
