the Majestic Line around the West Coast of Scotland

Gloating around the Isles

Inspired by the concept of traditional Turkish gulets, the Majestic Line offers simple, small scale cruises between April and October around the West Coast of Scotland. Akin to luxury “glamping” (luxury camps), this is “gloating” or glamorous boating. Glen Massan and Glen Tarsan are former fishing boats, beautifully renovated to create comfortable motorised “yachts,” accommodating 11 guests, with a crew of skipper, chef, engineer and bosun.

Life on board is casual and relaxing. These intimate, wee ships have the atmosphere of a friendly house party with superb food and drink. Dinner each night is a gourmet Scottish feast – smoked salmon, langoustines, mussels, lamb, organic vegetables, raspberries, farmhouse cheese and fine wines.

Experience the seascapes, mountains, lochs and islands is an authentic “messing about in boats” adventure. Choose from various three and six-day itineraries including Argyll Peninsula, Mull, Skye and Caledonian Canal. Shore excursions offer the chance for beach walks, bird watching, dolphin spotting, exploring ancient castles and fishing villages.

The 2012 season offers several speciality themed cruises, including foodie cruises, Taste of Argyll and Taste of Arran to highlight the fresh, local seafood, venison, beef, Loch Fyne oysters, Fyne ales and malt whisky. As well as mixed house parties, you can charter a boat for a family holiday. [- VD]
