Glasgow Print Studio | Glasgow

Academicians IV at the Glasgow Print Studio is the fourth in a series of exhibitions bringing together the outstanding work of four eminent Royal and Royal Scottish Academicians.  Christopher Le Brun PRA has work in MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Tate. He has been President of the Royal Academy of Arts, London, since 2011. Working in dialogue with specialists in neuroscience, meteorology, engineering and psychiatry, Annie Cattrell RSA is particularly interested in where art, science and the poetic meet. Primarily a painter, Stephen Chambers RA’s printed work includes etching, screen, lithography, wood cut and even potato print. His 2012 work, ‘The Big Country’, is at twenty metres long possibly the largest screenprint ever printed in an edition. Kate Downie RSA’s continued exploration of human travel has been inspired by journeys through Australian river estuaries, Japanese train systems and American highways and, for this exhibition, train journeys across Scotland.
