Comfort & Joy at Artisan& in Aberfeldy showcases painter and illustrator Lynsay Hay and potter Shona Mackenzie. Working from memory and imagination, Lynsay creates vivid acrylic landscapes inspired by her surroundings in Perthshire and beyond. Using brushes, palette knives and found tools, she paints in layers, scraping each one back to reveal translucent and opaque colours. Shona’s pottery is all hand-thrown, rolled or coiled. Both beautiful and functional, each unique piece is hand-painted with hills, rivers or wildlife, glazed or dip-glazed and fired twice in the kiln, so you can sip your morning coffee from a work of art.
