Figurative painter Gill Walton specialises in capturing moods, emotions and states of being, often incorporating a narrative element that draws heavily on historic portraiture, Baroque symbolism and contemporary feminist themes, Carl Jung’s archetypes and dream worlds. Gill is mounting an Open Studio weekend at her Duns base in the Scottish Borders – having been awarded a residency at Marchmont House in March there is plenty of new work on show, alongside her pandemic response series, Breath. Booking is essential, and admission is free.
Gill is a member of the Scottish Society of Artists (SSA).
