The multi-disciplinary arts venue SWG3 in Glasgow is mounting a new exhibition featuring 34 exclusive skateboards; recognising the unique and limitless possibilities as ‘platforms’ for art and design, Deck the Halls occupies the venue’s new urban arts gallery Yard Life – housed in one of its archways on Eastvale Place. Resident Yard Life artist James Klinge – well-known for his street art around the city – has co-curated the show with Marianne Vosloo as part of SWG3’s arts programme, inspired by skateboarding and its creative opportunities for art, which extend beyond the merely decorative to community-building and shaping fashion.
