The American artist Georgia O’Keeffe (1887–1986), best known for her paintings of enlarged flowers, New York skyscrapers and New Mexico landscapes, was one of the most significant artists of the 20th century, most of which her own lifetime spanned while she became recognised for her huge contribution to modern art. Part of the excellent Art Masters series of graphic biographies, this one draws mainly from O’Keeffe’s letters, exposing her deepest self and revealing her to be a tireless traveller, nature-lover and strong, emancipated woman who carved her own determined path through life.
