Good to see some of Scotland’s newer artisan food producers at Foodies in Edinburgh over the Festival period. Among the exhibitors who tickled our taste buds was Ria Bromley who brought her delicious Indonesian-inspired chilli sauce – Ria Sambal – from Aberdeenshire. From Ayrshire Cochrane Cottage wowed with its hand-made flavoured balsamics (not surprising they won golds in the 2011 Great Taste Awards).
More fabulous hand-made dressings came from Saladworx of Dornoch. Caledonian Oysters were up on stage, while Spinks were showing how they create their Arbroath Smokies. Spencerfield (Edinburgh Gin) and Peelham Farm were some of the familiar – and well-established – locals at the show.
