In what might come as a comfort to anyone missing a summer visit to Italy this year, Gallery Q Dundee‘s new exhibition is Impressions of Italy, a colourful and varied exhibition featuring impressions of that beautiful country by several leading Scottish artists. Gallery owner Lucinda Middleton says, ‘I was originally inspired to bring these artists together after seeing the beautiful paintings of Venice by Jean Martin RSW and then works by Mhairi McGregor RSW and by Charles MacQueen RSW RGI. I realised that Italy was a favourite subject for many of the artists whose work we show at the gallery and the exhibition was born.’
Other key exhibitors are Christine Woodside RSW RGI, Jennifer Irvine RSW RGI and Morag Muir RSW who bring their distinct styles to their Italian subject matter, paintings by John Lowrie Morrison MBE, who has recently expanded his subject matter beyond Scotland, Margaret Evans, Anne Skinner, new gallery artist Sandra Dickie, and prints from Cat Outram.
