A visual arts workshop based in Burra Isle, Shetland, Gaada has had to suspend its usual face-to-face activities, but has initiated its own online magazine, Quarantzine – an open, monthly zine of art made in self-isolation during the Covid 19 pandemic.
With its first edition, comprising 140 contributed pieces of work, already online and having proven internationally popular, a call has gone out for contributions for the next edition. A printed version is planned to celebrate the end of this current emergency period, when the time comes.
The purpose of the project is to maintain contact with Gaada’s core group of users, and to extend the opportunity to anyone currently in self-isolation to contribute their work.
