The Brunton in Musselburgh has nineteen shows as part of its Brunton Fringe Festival and Summer Programme. Folk music is represented by Irish singer Cara Dillon said by Mojo magazine to have ‘quite possibly the world’s most beautiful female voice’, Scotland’s pre-eminent singer-songwriter Dougie MacLean (Caledonia, music for The Last of the Mohicans, songs covered by Paolo Nutini, Amy MacDonald, Ronan Keating et al) and Scottish performer and BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winner Siobhan Miller.
The Young Classical Artist Trust Showcase features Irene Duval (violin), Jean-Selim Abdelmoula (piano) and Maciej Kulakowski (cello) performing works by Beethoven, Brahms and Schubert, while National Theatre Live screenings include Jodie Comer (Killing Eve) as a young barrister in Prima Facie and a modern take on Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing.
