Visual arts figure strongly in the Findhorn Bay Festival, which also features theatre, performance, storytelling and live music. In 2021 Moray-based artists Lynne Strachan and Mary Bourne developed an arts project in The Cabrach, a largely depopulated rural estate. The resulting exhibition explores some of the challenges facing this community. Artist Diane Main presents Wild Life, an exhibition of woodland images drawn from daily walking observations as she picked her way through dense foliage, uprooted trees and tangled thickets in the tactile and visceral landscape.
The Festival marks the tenth anniversary of the producers, Findhorn Bay Arts. In an area where the culture budget was cut many years ago, it now contributes around £800,000 to the local economy.
