Edinburgh’s Morningside Gallery is hosting its first solo show of the popular and distinctive Scottish painter Gordon Wilson. Comprising thirty-seven paintings, the exhibition spans all of the subject-matter that Gordon has become known for, such as birds, boats, biddies, wee lums and poppy fields, Ailsa Craig, the Bass Rock and his still lifes. After studying at Glasgow School of Art, Gordon’s career began in design and picture-framing, but he is now a full-time professional artist and has built up a loyal following of clients worldwide. Painting daily, six days a week, from early, Gordon is an intuitive and spontaneous artist, and this exhibition, accompanied by film and catalogue, provides an insight into his individuality and appeal. The Gallery is exhibiting at 2022’s Borders Art Fair, 25th – 27th March.
