Evoke/Provoke at Tatha Gallery in Newport-on-Tay is an exhibition of abstract works featuring paintings by Dennis Buchan, Dominique Cameron and Susie Leiper, along with ceramics (pictured) by Jane Sarre and sculptural forms by Richard Goldsworthy. Abstract art challenges the traditional notions of form and structure, and the creation of an abstract artwork can often become a kind of conversation between the artist and their medium – a push and pull between chaos and control. Abstract works require viewers to suspend their preconceived notions and let go of the need to find concrete representation.
