Having painted and drawn since childhood, Dot Walker continued producing artwork while pursuing a career in emergency care, and travelling extensively: the last two decades have seen her focusing on art, studying in Glasgow and Sydney, Australia, before spending two years living and painting in rural Nepal, then returning to her native Scotland and settling in the Highlands. Her art is inspired by the weather and ever-changing light of this spectacular part of the world, and employs a vivid palette and a range of media to depict the powerful outdoors. Alongside this show, the Gallery is mounting a large mixed exhibition by artists both local and from across Scotland. Situated in the scenic Highland Perthshire town of Aberfeldy, the Gallery showcases contemporary art by established and emerging Scottish artists.
