Eduardo Alessandro Studios‘ association with John Bell dates back over 20 years during which time he has developed his unique contemporary take on the Scottish landscape, building a considerable following both at home and abroad.
The 2019 collection includes many outstanding examples of John’s work, offering a depth of subjects which demonstrate his passion for the great variety of textures, colours and locations found within his homeland.
Born in 1972 in Broughty Ferry and educated at Grove Academy, John studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art (1989-93) and now lives in rural Perthshire. John is often drawn to subjects that have elements of age and a past life. His dynamic landscapes perfectly characterise the glorious isolation of many of his favoured Scottish locations. His technique marries traditional and contemporary styles, contrasting finely detailed observation against simplified backdrops to capture the stillness and mood of his subjects.
