Edinburgh Art Festival 2018 is starting today. Founded in 2004, and now in its 15ht edition, it is bringing the capital’s leading art institutions in a celebration of visual arts. Its programme includes performances, tours, walks, artist talks, as well as numerous pop-up exhibitions and events in art galleries across the city of Edinburgh.
The Festival’s 2018 Commissions Programme features new art commissions by Shilpa Gupta, Ross Birrell & David Harding, Ruth Ewan and Adam Lewis Jacob. These artists invite the visitors to reflect on current political issues and our consumer culture.
This year’s partner exhibition programme presents exhibitions and shows in the city’s leading art spaces, including Ingleby Gallery, Collective, Fruitmarket Gallery, Jupiter Artland, Talbot Rice Gallery, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, the Scottish Gallery, the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, City Art Centre, The Fine Art Society in Edinburgh, Open Eye Gallery, The Queen’s Gallery and more.
