Now in its 23rd year, the Macmillan Art Show is a key event in the fund-raising calendar for Macmillan Cancer Support, with at least 50 per cent of the proceeds going to the charity and the rest to the artists, all of whom are based in Scotland. As in previous years, the sale takes place at St John’s Church’s Cornerstone Centre in Edinburgh’s West End, and following this the sale continues online until 8th December.

Ukraine-born artist Yulia Allan’s Misty Night, Glencoe (see top) is the lead image promoting the show: Yulia is a professional artist with close family members in the country, and she has embraced the land- and sea-scapes of Scotland to incorporate dramatic shifts of light and atmosphere.

The Macmillan Support Line is open daily from 8am to 8pm on 0808 8080000 to help with clinical, practical and financial information. In addition, the Macmillan Online Community forum is available to anyone facing cancer who may need to talk about things or hear from those who are or have been in a similar situation.
