24th June – 5th July
Established in 1947, Edinburgh International Film Festival is the world’s oldest continually-running film festival, and normally takes the form every June of a fortnight of cinema screenings and related events.
This year with the Covid lockdown the action moves online, with #EdFilmFestAtHome, scheduled to curate a selection of the best upcoming cinema – films that are likely to screen at cinemas once they are open again. This will include previews in an ambitious programme, featuring award-winning names including Tilda Swinton, Maxine Peake, Ron Howard, Alicia Vikander, Jennifer Baichwal, Marco Bellocchio and the Dardenne brothers.
Each day during the 12-day festival, a new release will be shown, with films playing for between 2 and 12 days, for £9.99 in the UK, available to view via Festival partner Curzon Home Cinema.
