In a celebration of the arts in East Lothian, this year’s 3 Harbours Arts Festival will take place online (see website, left) from Sat 3rd – Sun 11th July, hosting a variety of arts activities, short films, music videos and Zoom workshops.
The art exhibition is an online gallery and shop, showing a diverse mix of painting, illustration, mixed media, printmaking, jewellery, glass and 3D art, created by established local artists and newcomers. Music videos include recordings (some recorded exclusively for the Festival) by professional East Lothian musicians, alongside school music projects such as Sound Story, Sea Shanties and multi-instrumental collaborations produced by East Lothian Council’s Arts Service, IMS and YMI. Videos for families include arts and environmental activities, and Cockenzie Primary School pupils have recorded videos of their budding artists’ creations. In addition, there are short films, participatory projects and live zoom workshops in Linocut Printing, Song for adults and Dreamcatcher-making for families.
The organisers are hoping the Festival will inspire creativity and showcase talent in the region, known for its long history, lovely villages and beautiful coastline. More details can be found by following the Festival’s Facebook page.
