Billed as a ‘concept show’, City Contemporary Art‘s dedicated solo show space is featuring painter Sally Gatie’s The Dresses. Long-fascinated by the juxtaposition of fabrics and people, Sally has painted on canvas several dresses, left unworn in her wardrobe for many years, leading her to examine her complex feelings towards them, the memories they stir, their colours, textures, and the feeling of wearing them, and to re-assess her reasons for keeping them.
