Dovecot Studios Edinburgh: Art Happens Appeal

Appeal runs until 23rd July; Dovecot Studios reopens 15th July, resuming its exhibition Mid-Century Modern: Art & Design from Conran to Quant.

Edinburgh’s Dovecot Studios is inviting its followers to support its Art Happens campaign to raise funds to stage a major exhibition telling the story of Edinburgh weaver and pop artist Archie Brennan (1931-2019), who began his 60-year career at Dovecot Studios in his home city.

Although he inspired weavers all over the world and became the undisputed master of modern tapestry, and a sharp and talented pop artist, there has never been a major exhibition of his work, and Dovecot is seeking to change that. The 30-day appeal runs until 23rd July and you can  donate here. You can also claim exclusive rewards donated by artists eager to assist the appeal, such as a poster and sticker set by Beca Lipscombe of Atelier E.B, a weaving kit with wool selection by artist  Victoria Crowe, a print by artist Duggie Fields, and a signed print by artist Callum Innes.
