Douglas Gordon: k.364 at Dundee Contemporary Arts is described by DCA curator Eoin Dara as ‘an emotional and complex work that stretched across vast geographical and historical spaces’. The Turner Prize winner’s new multi-screen film installation follows two Israeli musicians of Polish descent on a train journey from Berlin to Warsaw through lands from which their families fled in 1939. It culminates at the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall with Avri Levitan and Roi Shiloah taking part in a performance of Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat major, or k.364, a meditation on difficult histories and the power of music to unite.
