Diane Hand: The Nature of the Horse at Edinburgh Palette showcases her skills in equestrian drawing and painting, informed by her long-time close experience of those magnificent animals, which has enabled her to depict the essence of the horse, whether as a portrait or showing its energy in movement. The exhibition focuses on the intimate and private communication between horses which exists separate from the human world.

A professional artist for most of her life, Diane trained at the Ruskin School of Art in Oxford and Glasgow School of Art. She is a winner for Best Drawing with the Society of Equestrian Artists and the Jockey Club purchased the rights to one of her drawings for use in a new development at Sandown Park racecourse. She is the author of Draw Horses in 15 Minutes (published by Ilex/Octopus) and runs popular e-course and workshops based on the method described in the book.
