No sooner has he opened a new Edinburgh restaurant, Mark Greenaway is entertaining the nation on TV. Mark is competing in the eighth series of BBC 2’s Great British Menu, which is in aid of Comic Relief. This year the challenge is to create a menu fit for a special banquet celebrating 25 years of Red Nose Day. Mark is competing in the Scottish regional heat which is on air for a week from Monday 4 February. The other two chefs in the Scottish heat are Tony Singh and Michael Smith of the Three Chimneys in Skye.
Mark opened his new 60-seat restaurant in North Castle Terrace in January, having operated in Picardy Place since 2011. From 12 February, Restaurant Mark Greenaway will be taking part in Menu Relief, and serving his Comic Relief four-course menu (price £55), donating 10 per cent from every meal sold to the charity.
