Lunchtime Classical Concerts have returned to The Brunton in Musselburgh. Accordionist Ryan Corbett plays Bach, Scarlatti, Field, Mendelssohn and Zolotaryov in a repertoire ranging from Baroque beauty through 19th-century Romanticism to Russian virtuosity, fizzing with musical energy, on 8th March. And piano/string Trio Doyenne play pieces by Brahms and the early 20th-century French composer Lili Boulanger, who composed over fifty works in ten years, but died aged just 24 of intestinal tuberculosis just as she was becoming recognised as a major musical talent, on 19th April.
