The next live and online auction at Lyon & Turnbull in Edinburgh is The Hancock Collection: 20th Century Art & Design, on 25th January. The late Chris Hancock studied Architecture and Design in the late 1960s and early 1970s. An enthusiastic collector of varied memorabilia, like many boys growing up in the immediate post-war years he was an avid hoarder of toy cars by the Dinky company and collecting became a life-long passion. Eventually his collection encompassed Royal Doulton, work by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the Art Nouveau movement as well as fine art, ceramics and furniture.
