An exhibition at the Scottish Parliament celebrates one of Scotland’s best known products. Scotch Whisky: From Grain To Glass marks the centenary of the Scotch Whisky Association, the whisky industry’s trade body. The industry’s rich heritage is showcased with a range of images and artefacts – including a full size model of a white horse and a papier mache giraffe.
Scotch whisky exports reached £4.23 billion last year and the industry directly employs more than 10,000 people across Scotland. The exhibition highlights whisky’s position both as an iconic Scottish product and its vital role in the economy and society. The free exhibition runs until 25 January, 2013.
