The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra returns to the stage celebrating its 25th anniversary with Live at 25 at Edinburgh’s Queens Hall with a programme drawn from almost 100 years of jazz and the classical and Scottish traditions. The Orchestra’s extensive repertoire ranges from Robert Burns to Mozart, from Edwin Morgan to Mary Lou Williams and from Count Basie to Glasgow’s poet of the tenor saxophone, Bobby Wellins – inspirations which have found their way into multiple recordings and onto stages across the UK, Europe, Japan and the USA. Featuring award-winning trombonists Anoushka Nanguy and Liam Shortall, this concert represents a quarter century in microcosm.
