An exhibition of collaborative artworks by students at the University of Edinburgh, Works In Progress is the culmination of a project pairing Edinburgh College of Art students and mature students from across the University.
The works were created in response to intergenerational conversations between pairs of students, reflecting on their own experiences of isolation, grief and sacrifice, and recognising their resilience, experience and growth in facing adversities.
The resultant exhibition showcases ECA students’ creative and imaginative responses to these complex personal themes, and reflects the project’s aim of fostering dialogues between different student populations, and raising awareness of the unique challenges faced by older students. It also celebrates the diverse range of experiences and histories of the University’s student body, and the talent of young artists in a poignant, multidisciplinary, and creative artistic exhibition.
