There are two exhibitions to enjoy at the Scottish Arts Club in Edinburgh this August, with We Breathe Again by Henry Jabbour in the Club Room, and in the Dining Room, work by Club members Evie Jamieson and Catherine Stevenson.
Born in Beirut, Lebanon, Henry lives in the UK, having pursued a career as a Medical Scientist, culminating in an Honorary Professorship at the University of Edinburgh. In 2010, he decided to follow his passion for art and studied full time at the Leith School of Art , which he followed by gaining a Master of Fine Art degree at the New York Academy of Art.
Evie’s work was inspired by memories and sketches of recent journeys in Italy, while Catherine enjoys exploring realism, stylisation and pattern in her still-lifes and landscapes developed from drawings of familiar objects and favourite places.
The Club is also hosting a series of Festival Fringe events, Clubfest 2023, 15th – 25th August, with an enormous variety of music, song, poetry and magic, for adults and youngsters.
