When seascape artist Senja Brendon is not out storm-chasing, surfing and, more recently, wild swimming to study the ocean’s moods and changing forms, she can be found painting as the resident artist at Saltwater Gallery. She says, ‘I am in love with the sea. It revitalises and refreshes me. It calms me in times of stress. I feel exhilarated and connected to it and I never tire of its myriad colours and changing moods.’
This exhibition is inspired by memories of car journeys with her mother, who would play the Neil Diamond soundtrack to the movie Jonathan Livingston Seagull, based on the 1970 Richard Bach book about a bird who yearns for a purpose in life rather than just squabbling over scraps from fishing boats. Buyers will receive a complimentary copy of the book with every purchase of an original work by Senja.
