Gallery Heinzel in Aberdeen is staging its exhibition Quiet Tension, which sets the work of Scottish artist David Blyth alongside a selection of works by a group of highly-accomplished contemporary art practitioners.

Head of the Masters programme at Grays School of Art, close by the Gallery in Aberdeen, David is staging a fully-immersive show with accompanying soundtrack. His work explores the subtle and emotional resonances lying within the natural world, and the works in this exhibition reflect his investigation into atmosphere, memory, and the passage of time. He says, ‘Painting for me, is a way of holding onto fleeting atmospheres – moment where landscape, memory, and feeling quietly collide.’

The opening will take place Saturday 21st, 10am – 4pm, promising a full day of art, as an event with Ade Adesina RSA will take place too, with catering by FAFFLESS, in Heinzel’s private dining room (with a 10% discount available to everyone who has dinner between the two shows.)
