A new exhibition at Gracefield Arts Centre in Dumfries features over 80 works created in Dumfries Print Studio workshop, showcasing all the techniques used in this versatile medium, such as etchings, collagraphs, linocut and cyanotype with a particular focus on screen-printing.
Original prints differ from reproduction prints and, although they are often made in limited editions, each is individually created by the artist from an original drawn image, with no two ever exactly the same due to the subtleties of ink application or pressure of the press.
This is an ideal opportunity to buy a thoughtful original present or treat yourself to an artwork to start or enhance your art collection. Artworks can be bought ‘off the wall’ and from the unframed print browsers or collected by 3pm on 21st December, in time for Christmas.
Also showing, until 20th Dec: Masters of Photography, a touring exhibition by the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain, featuring images by some of the best UK amateur photographers.
