7th to 21st November
Following her first solo show in 2017, Edinburgh’s Arusha Gallery welcomes Shelly Tregoning back for an exhibition of new paintings and monoprints. Born in Mauritius and brought up in the West Indies, Tregoning was educated in England, and after gaining her Fine Art degree at University College, Falmouth, has been selected for several prestigious art prizes and exhibitions.
Her new collection explores the inventive nature of the self we construct, and the nuances of gestures that betray our real selves, with our carefully-constructed outer identities and behaviours often being at odds with the genuine person inside, that we sometimes prefer to suppress.
