Edinburgh’s Arusha Gallery is hosting an exhibition by Edinburgh College of Art graduate Danny Leyland, exploring ideas around action, labour and deed. Danny’s visual language is informed by comparative mythology, folklore, mediaeval romance and archaeology, while this new body of work, inspired by his time in Varanasi, India, childhood memories, and daily observations, Leyland references philosophy, myth and pop culture.
Danny is one of several artists whose work can be accessed on the Gallery’s website.
The Gallery has also mounted Exercise Three, inviting artists to answer questions ranging from superstitions and recipes to film recommendations and favourite dance songs, before being tasked with exercise three – an A5 drawing challenge. Their final drawings are published on their website and available to purchase for £110.
