The new, freshly repainted space in the diverse Southside of Edinburgh celebrated its one year anniversary on the 7th of September.
Art and Craft Collective’s director Linsay Black has dedicated herself to steadily enriching the collective by discovering and supporting new artists in terms of their professional development. She had decided to gravitate away from her marketing and PR background about 5 years ago when she made the choice to create a space, which would nurture both developed and unrealized artistic talent. Today, the diverse array of crafts and artists being part of the collective serves to show the gallery’s progressive vision.
The collective works with over 55 artists from around the world. The gallery regularly organizes special events, exhibitions, and arts and crafts workshops (upcoming dates and details for linocut card making, needle felting, and making origami boxes workshops can be found on their website below).
The gallery is immersed in works of art of various sizes and shapes, such as painted postcards, clay pots, and candles. Especially impressive are the powerful oil paintings, works of numerous artists, and the delicately made stained glass jewellery.
