UK-based humanitarian initiative Art Aid Ukraine is staging an online timed auction of contemporary artworks, to raise funds for medicines for hospitals in war-stricken Ukraine. The organisers say that all proceeds from sales will go directly to supplying hospitals with the medicines requested through the Medicine for Ukraine initiative. The online auction is hosted by The Auction Collective, and includes work by a large and varied selection of artists and ceramicists, many of them internationally-acclaimed.
The initiative was started by Adam Parker, a UK-based location photographer, and Ukraine-born Lesia Lakiza, who have spent time during the war on the Romanian-Ukrainian border assisting Lesia’s family and other victims of the invasion.
