Having gained her Diploma in Drawing and Painting from Glasgow School of Art in 1974, Ann Armstrong has taken as her inspiration the shifting atmospheres and geographies encountered through travel. The subjects of her pastel, watercolour or oil paintings could be the grey subdued light of a Parisian street in winter, the blinding midday sun on the Nile, or a brooding Scottish hillside shrouded by cloud, transcribing the vibrant or subtle colours of her subject matter. Ann has participated in many group exhibitions, including the Royal Scottish Society of Watercolour Artists, Royal Glasgow Institute, The Aspect Prize, Paisley Art Institute Drawing Competition and many galleries both in the UK and abroad. Her website has a vast selection of oils and watercolours from her career.
