Based in Copenhagen, painter David Risley has been writing, curating and teaching since gaining his fine art degree from Bath School of Art, and is now exhibiting a series of new window paintings at the Edinburgh gallery Hunted Projects.

Night Is Also A Sun is his first solo exhibition with the Edinburgh gallery and draws its subject matter from night-time walks around Copenhagen, when Risley would note the apartment windows in his neighbourhood – uniformly uncurtained and adorned with plants and the warm glow of a lamp, with occasional deviations such as stickers, blinds, or patterned net curtains, restricting the view, while hinting at a portrait of the unseen residents.
