Edinburgh’s The Nomads Tent is launching its festive exhibition and sale programme, Christmas at the Nomads Tent. Additionally, the gallery is hosting two workshops on Tuesday 7th December, lead by Polish artist and icon-painter Basia Mindewicz, demonstrating how to create your own miniature icon to hang on the wall, or present as a special gift. Tickets are £40 per person. Altogether unique in the city, The Nomads Tent is described as ‘a warehouse of tribal art directly importing oriental carpets, tribal & contemporary rugs & kilims, jewellery, artefacts and furniture from Iran, India, Afghanistan, Turkey, The Caucasus, Pakistan, and the Himalayan Kingdoms’. The gallery and shop staff know the eastern souks and bazaars well, and hand-select their favourites, to offer their unique selection.
