16th – 25th January

From Alba to Arabia is an exhibition of contemporary art from Scotland, together with a series of workshops, presented by Highland Print Studio, Inverness, at Dubai’s arts centre Alserkal Avenue. The touring exhibition will also visit Stal Gallery in Muscat, Art Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Jeddah and Wejha Arts Centre in Kuwait.

The display is a showcase for the printmaking and digital imaging artists’ workshop in the Highlands, just north of Loch Ness, with its facilities for traditional printmaking techniques such as etching, silkscreen, woodcut and lithography, alongside a digital imaging suite – all used by professional artists and beginners alike.

Staff from the Studio will be giving a presentation about its work and providing printmaking workshops for those wishing to try some of the techniques used in the exhibition, including monoprint, drypoint, woodcut and linocut.

Supported by the British Council, DCMS and GREAT through the UK-Gulf Culture and Sport programme.
