In West Kilbride, designated Scotland’s Craft Town, the Barony Centre‘s new exhibition Places, Spaces, Traces, textile artist Cas Holmes is joined by members of the Scottish Potters Association, West Kilbride Primary School pupils creating vessels in clay, and North Ayrshire-based ‘new Scots’, including Syrians and Ukrainians seeking refuge, creating work in printmaking. The combined body of work explores the connection we have to landscape and place, and how our understanding of the importance of heritage, such as traditions, monuments, objects and culture, can impact upon our identities and the place we call home.
