Newhailes Squared in the Stables Courtyard at Newhailes House in Edinburgh features work selected from over 100 entries submitted by members of the local community to showcase their affection for the National Trust for Scotland’s 18th century Palladian mansion house and estate. Artists were invited to create works in a medium of their choice within a ten-inch square canvas, and they are available to buy with a 10 per cent donation going to the Trust to support its conservation work.
Once owned by the Dalrymple family, Newhailes House and Gardens sits among woodland landscapes with views across the River Forth. The mansion features rococo interiors, Italian marble fireplaces, a Chinese sitting room and an impressive art collection.
